SUE STORM

Fantastic 4

Why I chose to make this costume:

This cosplay happened because I found the most amazing fabric for it! It's an opalescent 4-way stretch self-healing rubberized spandex! It feels like a thin neoprene as used for drysuits (for diving.) It was only available in that color so I bought 3 yards of it and realized that I would make Sue Storm's suit with it. The Kotobukiya statue even has an opalescent finish.

How I made this costume:

I made the bodysuit using Kwiksew's center seam bodysuit pattern, then drew lines on it, and cut the suit apart O_O. That was nerve wracking. I used the backside of the same fabric as contrast trim and stitched it all the way down both sides of the front and back of the suit, using a zigzag stitch. Then I finished the bodysuit with an invisible zipper.
I also make the 4 symbol (Worbla with matching fabric covered over it), belt and collar, and styled the wig, which is from Purple Plum!

Thoughts on this costume:

This is a very comfy costume, but also really warm because of the rubber material. Definitely not a preferred summer costume, but it's so easy to transport and wear!
