Why I chose to make this costume:
I really enjoyed cosplaying Ningguang at Dragon Con this year and bought her Orchid Evening Gown on a whim! It arrived in time for a festive New Year's Eve photoshoot so here we are! A respendent way to end 2022!
How I made this costume:
I did not make this costume! It is from Doki Doki Costumes, and shokingly enough, it fit without me having to do ANY alterations?! That's absolutely the first occurence of this kind lol.
The wig is also from Doki Doki, and as annoying as it was to have to use a second wig for a second Ningguang costume, I love the soft colors of this one! I restyled it completely!
Thoughts on this costume:
So I am usually so heckin exhausted by the end of the year that I NEVER go out for NYE, and thus never have a need for a festive gown. It's entirely on brand for me to do NYE through a cosplay and this Ningguang outfit was just great for snapping some fun celebratory photos!
I built the set with Brian's help in one afternoon and we shot the photos the next day. Happy New Year and onto a beautiful 2023!
