Why I chose to make this costume:
I have hotly anticipated the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime since it's announcement and the show did not disappoint my high expectations!!
Lucy reminds me of some other characters I have cosplayed in the past, such as Faye Valentine and Misato Katsuragi, and once I realized that I had all the fabrics to make this costume, it was on!
How I made this costume:
I wanted the costume to have texture and look high-tech, so I used about 8 different fabrics from my Cosplay Fabrics collection. They are puzzled together for visual interest and double layered in certain spots for durability.
Everything was made by me, including the wig, clocking in at about 90 hours of active crafting time.

Thoughts on this costume:
It's not really a spoiler that Edgerunners does not have a happy ending, but I got pulled deep into the show and was quite affected by it! Making Lucy was my way of working through those feelings lol!
I was reminded again how important passion projects are for my well-being, and that the best costume making experiences are of characters I genuinely love. I started the year with Belle, made in a mad dash week after watching the movie, and Cyberpunk Edgerunners compelled me to do it again with Lucy!
