time completed: Beginning of February 2002 The movie was recommended to me by someone who had already made a uniform. After watching it and being completely impressed by it, I agreed to join a costumed BR group at Katsucon as the lead female, Noriko. Before the convention rolled around I had completed the school uniform and took the pictures below in it, as another character from the movie, Mitsuko. How I made this costume: I had never created a tailored jacket complete with pockets, or a pleated skirt before so it was a fun challenge to make this costume. The jacket is fully lined and both items are hand hemmed. The shirt was bought and fits surprisingly well, and the tie found at a second hand store and altered for the con (not seen in these photos). The collar bomb was created with the help of Brian Boling - it flashes and blinks, just like in the movie. Thoughts on this costume: I was just really happy to have a Battle Royale uniform and act a groupie :). I recommend it to anyone interested in some good psychological gory Asian Cinema. As for this shoot, it was taking in a dead field on a cold rainy day. Reference pictures
